Campaign 'For Each Other 2020' is live!

As you may know, researchers at Maastricht University are working hard to improve the health and resilience of our society, so we can pick up the thread of our lives after the current corona crisis. The University Fund Limburg/SWOL is supporting this effort, but your help, too, is essential!

In the campaign 'For Each Other 2020', we would like to draw your attention to four special projects of Maastricht University. Below you can find out all about the projects and how to make a donation. Are you there For Each Other, too?

Give to... better corona recovery

Most people who recover from corona are left with mental and psychical health issues. Professor Jeanine Verbunt, who works at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, wants to develop a digital ‘corona aftercare instrument’ to help GPs diagnose these issues and prescribe the right course of treatment. In the video, Professor Verbunt tells you more about the project.

Still needed: €8,500.

Give to... less loneliness

Many older people live alone and would benefit from extra support and companionship, particularly now. In the social initiative HomeSharing, students move in with Maastricht residents who need a helping hand at home - what better way for young and old to help each other? You can help Hanna Hesemans, project coordinator at Match Maastricht, to make this initiative a success. In the video, Hanna tells you more about the project.

Still needed: €7,500.

Give to... disadvantaged students

Research shows that aspiring first-generation students - young people who would be the first in their family to go to university - are often hindered by various social and financial obstacles. All donations contribute to the Jo Ritzen scholarship, which wants to offer grants to help such students study in Maastricht. In the video, Professor Jo Ritzen tells you more about the project.

Still needed: 3 scholarships.

Give to... healthy children

How do we encourage our children to develop healthier eating habits? This research question lies at the heart of the Chair of Youth, Food and Health. Professors Remco Havermans and Edgar van Mil are asking for your contribution to a new sub-project, in which they are investigating whether babies can be primed for good nutrition even before birth. In the video, Professors Remco and Edgar tell you more about the project.

Still needed: €12,500.
